This last year has been a whirlwind of activity and tremendous learning for me! With one professional video project completed and available for sale, several finished web sites and hours of professional software training, I feel I’ve made tremendous progress in my professional development.

Here, then, is my year in review to let you know what I’ve been up to and what lies ahead for me and my nascent business, Cascade Creative Services and its video production brethren, Cascade Creative Productions.

Winter/Spring

I organized a private caucus with a few of Eugene’s political leaders on the subject of global heating and climate change in late January. Lecture with slides provided by Dr. Alder Fuller. Hopefully, follow-up will happen in 2008.

I finished a second class on global heating and climate change with Alder. We reviewed in some detail the newest book by James Lovelock, “The Revenge of Gaia.”

Shot, edited and produced a DVD program on the subject of health freedom, as part of a new business with my brother and soon-to-be famous health coach, Jim Jordan. As part of that collaboration called, Health Freedom Seminars, I also produced a new web site that has received numerous accolades: www.healthfreedomseminars.com.

Created and launched a simple web site for my cousin, Miklos Hubay, a newly-licensed acupuncture practitioner in Santa Barbara, California. See it here: http://www.acupuncturesantabarbara.com

Summer

By July, I finished work on a redesign of a web site for a Eugene physician.

Mid-July saw the official release of the Health Freedom Seminars video/training manual package. DVD case & DVD label design by yours truly. Not bad for a rookie designer! Ordering information is available here: www.healthfreedomseminars.com/TrainingPkg.htm

Began intensive study of multimedia creation software, Adobe Captivate and (more recently) renewed a nodding acquaintance with the famed Adobe Flash multimedia creation software.

Made a wonderful connection with a wise spiritual teacher in the Portland area: Georgette Star. Georgette is the founder of the Life Blessing Institute and successful trainer of girls’ Rights of Passage program facilitators. Her facilitation business is Maiden Spirit (http://www.maidenspirit.org/).

By the end of Summer, I finally landed an intensive interview with teacher and systems scientist, Dr. Alder Fuller, as part of a developing documentary project on global heating and climate change.

Fall

Developed a robust web site specifically for the global heating and climate change documentary, which has as a working title, “Scorched Earth,” based, in part, on a comment by one of the leaders Alder and I met with in January. Soon after launching the web site, I discovered a wonderful video hosting service called Bright Cove. Cliff Etzel, friend and fellow video producer (www.bluprojekt.com) turned me on to it. After signing up for this higher-quality video hosting service, I quickly added multiple clips from Alder’s interview to the www.globalheatingfilm.com web site.

As part of this documentary project, Alder Fuller introduced me to a remarkably talented, Portland-area DJ and musical composer, Rain (www.phutureprimitive.com). As a result of his enthusiasm for Alder’s work and in support of our work to get the word out, he agreed to allow use of two of his musical compositions in the documentary. Very good news for us, indeed!

In November, I spent an afternoon training Georgette Star (www.MaidenSpirit.org) and her partner in the use of the video equipment I had earlier helped her choose to document her program sessions. Should divine timing prove right, this friendship just might turn into a project collaboration in 2008. We shall see….

In early December, I finished a Flash-based interactive CD-ROM to go with the Health Freedom Seminars training package to explain how to fill out 3 legal forms mentioned in the dual-set DVD we are selling. Audio narration provided by my brother.

Finally, just prior to release of this newsletter, I finished an initial, brief version of the "Scorched Earth" documentary (a sketch of the science behind climate change) using my interview with Dr. Alder Fuller from last Summer. This video will be used as a tool to raise more money for a final, feature-length production due out next Fall. MORE >>

My wife Lisa, who worked hard to produce a wonderful transcript of the interview with Alder for “Scorched Earth” and who continues to provide wonderful aesthetic advice and moral support.

My mother, Claudine Jordan, an accomplished filmmaker in her own right (www.cezefilms.com), has helped immensely with loads of professional advice and production assistance for the Health Freedom Seminars video shoot last January.

My brother, who, through enormously wise health advice over the past few years, has helped me achieve a HUGE boost in health and vitality…the results of which you can see in my list of accomplishments (all while working full time!). And, of course, you too can benefit from his remarkable talent and compassion by contacting him.
